DRC:Senate Opens Extraordinary Session This Saturday with Three Major Bills on the Agenda
Kinshasa, June 26, 2026 (TOP243NEWS) – The Senate of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will hold the first plenary sitting of its extraordinary session this Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the People's Palace in Kinshasa. The session is expected to be significant, with lawmakers set to examine key legislative proposals relating to national security and economic governance.
According to the agenda released by the Senate Bureau, the plenary session will focus on three major items.
The first concerns the general consideration of a bill authorizing the extension of the state of siege in parts of the national territory. The measure, currently in force in several provinces affected by insecurity, will be submitted to the Upper House for approval.
