Johannesburg / Lubumbashi (TOP243NEWS) – Since taking the helm of VUKA Group’s operations in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in October 2025, Papy Luzala has emerged as one of the leading figures behind the country’s major mining and economic events.
Appointed General Manager of VUKA Group DRC while also serving as Africa Stakeholder Relations Lead, he oversees a strategic mission: strengthening the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s position as a premier destination for investment in mining, critical minerals, energy, and sustainable development.
In this capacity, Papy Luzala leads the implementation of VUKA Group’s strategic initiatives across the DRC.
His role involves close collaboration with key public institutions, including the Ministry of Mines, industry organizations such as the Chamber of Mines and the Federation of Congolese Enterprises (FEC), major mining companies, diplomatic missions, as well as regional financial and multilateral institutions.
Under his leadership, DRC Mining Week, held annually in Lubumbashi, and the DRC Critical Minerals & Industrialisation Forum in Kolwezi have continued to strengthen their reputation as two of Africa’s premier business platforms for the mining industry.
Together, these events attract more than 10,000 participants each year from across the Democratic Republic of the Congo and around the world, creating opportunities for investment, strategic partnerships, and knowledge sharing.
Beyond organizing these flagship events, Papy Luzala plays a pivotal role in expanding VUKA Group’s commercial footprint in the DRC. He identifies new growth opportunities, strengthens institutional partnerships, and contributes to the Group’s overall strategy in collaboration with VUKA’s advisory and operational leadership.
His career reflects the emergence of a new generation of African executives capable of building strong bridges between the public and private sectors while championing a modern and sustainable vision of economic development.
